COCOON presents, REFLECTIONS, AT DUANE PARK NYC

Welcome to a poetic journey of erotic fetish stories! While both elegant & daring, this theatrical, spoken word storytelling and culinary experience will find guests enjoying a savory four-course fare throughout the length of the show. Our goal is to harness all of the senses, transporting guests to a most unforgettable escape. Cocoon’s first story, Reflections, will guide guests to a suspenseful world of contemporary rope bondage.

Please note: Performance contains artistic nudity and is of a provocative nature, as such it may not be appropriate for all audiences.

SHOW TIME & LENGTH The experience starts at 7.00 pm on your arrival at Duane Park, 308 Bowery, NYC. Experience length is approximately 2,5h. Please note that Duane Park is 21+ establishment.

Eye masks are available upon arrival for those who prefer to remain anonymous during their visit. 

FAQs

DO I NEED TO BE VACCINATED?

Starting in September 2021, all guests are asked to provide proof of vaccination. All our artists are vaccinated along with Duane Park’s staff to create safe and enjoyable environment.

IS THIS A BURLESQUE SHOW?

No. Cocoon is an erotic theater, producing spoken word experiences.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

You are welcome to take pictures of yourself and your entourage but cameras and phones are not allowed during the live show due to performances containing nudity. We ask you kindly to respect our artists, thank you!

WHAT IS THE DRESSCODE?

Dress code is smart evening attire.

DOES THE AUDIENCE PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOW?

No, audience doesn’t participate. This is a voyeuristic experience.

ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?

We have a final-sale policy. All tickets are non-refundable & non-transferable. All reservations require a credit card to hold a table. Duane Park requires confirmation of the exact number of guests 48-72 hours in advance, depending on the party size. Failing to inform us of changes to your group will result in the full amount charged per person not attending.

WHAT ARE THE SHOW DATES?

Fall season begins in September 15th 2021 and we are doing one show a month.

HOW ABOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING and face masks?

To ensure a safe and healthy experience, social distance measures will be in effect throughout the evening. Face masks will be required upon entry and during the performances but can be removed for the times enjoying drinks and the four-course fair. Duane Park will take you through all the safety measurements upon your arrival. (April 2021)

The Cocoon experience is enhanced as our artists are now allowed to perform with their facial expressions and their bodies without face masks.

MEAGAN as AMELIA

Meagan is an actress, performing artist, and music artist based in New York City. She began her studies at The William Esper Studio and graduated from the two-year program in 2011. She continued on to study with William Esper in his Master Classes and starred in a number of independent films. She has since taken her voice and passion for music into the festival circuit, playing for events internationally. She enjoys spinning fire and riding her motorcycle both on camera and off. She is excited to return to bondage performance and honored to play alongside the other artists of 'Reflections'.

Helix as the bookstore master

Helix is a captivating rope performance artist and kink educator, pulling from more than two decades of experience in disciplines ranging from partner acrobatics, ballroom dance, stage combat, and alpine mountaineering to bring strong foundations in movement, suspension, intimacy, and safety to experiential theater.

Since 2020 he has produced events, performed, tied and taught workshops across North and South America, from his hometown in Brooklyn, to Colorado, Mexico and Colombia.

Elysia as a storyteller

Elysia is a British actress from London. Having acted from a young age, after getting her bachelor’s degree from Warwick University, she decided to pursue her career in acting. She graduated Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2017 and within the same year appeared in Black Mirror and landed the lead role in Universal’s Fast and Furious Live. The arena shows toured across the U.K. and Europe for 18 months, and shortly after Elysia moved to New York City. Additionally, during her studies at Warwick University, Elysia focused her Dissertation on the art of bondage.

MEG as a Storyteller

Meg is an Irish actor from County Limerick. She moved to New York four years ago to study acting at the Maggie Flanigan Studio. Since then she has performed in five Off-Broadway plays with the Irish Repertory Theatre including the O’Casey cycle. She got her start reciting poetry at the age of four in the Irish poetry competition The Féile Luimní and nowadays she shares her own poetry on social media. She recently performed her spoken word poem ‘You Were There’ for the American Irish Writers Society and is thrilled to be taking part in Cocoon as its subject matter is dear to her heart. Meg will be appearing in her first guest starring role in the Netflix series Archive 81 in 2022.

Haley Grace is a professional performer, model, and costume designer in Manhattan. Her background includes performing for a variety of NYC top clubs, private events, and corporate parties. As a theatrical costume designer, she aims to create an otherworldly experience through visual appearance in addition to movement. They dare the viewer to transcend reality and enter a world of fantasy.

Sam, The Blue-Eyed Bombshell, is a Brooklyn based performer and pin-up model who has also experience from bdsm world. She is a resident kitten at New York City's premiere dinner theater Duane Park, and has performed at various venues across NYC. Sam has a background in film and television production, and she is credited in many Hollywood features, including Ocean’s 8 and Spiderman Homecoming.

MIGUEL as MIRAGE OF MELANCHOLY AND PASSION

Miguel is a contemporary ballet dancer originally from Medellin, Colombia. He started dancing at the age of seventeen and moved to NYC in 2013 to finish his dance studies at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet under full scholarship. Since then, he has worked with multiple dance companies and choreographers in the Tri-State area. In 2018 he joined Complexions Contemporary and has performed and toured with them all over the US and internationally.

Inka Nevala & Daniel D’Ottavio

Inka Nevala & Daniel D’Ottavio

DIRECTOR, PRODUCER & WRITER: Inka Nevala is a Finnish performance artist, living in New York. She is a world renowned multi-faceted performer, who has performed, written and directed shows in New York, London and The European Continent.

CO-PRODUCER, LIGHTING DIRECTOR & PHOTOGRAPHER: Daniel D’Ottavio is a California native, international Photographer and Model living in New York. He has been shot as a model for and shot as a photographer for Italian Vogue, Balmain, GQ and collaborated successfully with Ralph Lauren on a series of Coffee Table Books.

WARDROBE & STAGE PROPS: Kristin Costa has been making costumes and headpieces for over a decade, with a focus on fantastical performance looks and couture techniques. Her wearable art has been seen across the world illustrating stories of mythology, nature, history, and more. Joel Youngblood is a woodworker and engineer living in NJ. He likes Pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. 

ORIGINAL VIDEO MUSIC: Patrick Krou is Originally from Montreal, now based in Spain. Krou has been composing music for the better part of the last 20 years. A self-titled debut EP of cinematic, ambient-pop tracks in 2001 led to a subsequent departure towards a more experimental musical journey. Combining analog and granular textures with heavily affected organic elements, the pendulum can swing between avant-garde/abstract to more dark, melodic offerings with hints of 60s/70s melancholy.

VIDEO POST-PRODUCTION: The Baron of Juxta concept. The Baron is a Finnish photo- and videographer living in Berlin. His earlier work has deep dark flavors of film & art noir but has recently moved towards more surreal and contemporary direction. The Baron captures the light where there is no light and plays with the shadows of higher consciousness.

LEATHER ACCESSORIES: Love Lorn Lingerie is a handmade leather harness and lingerie brand run by Jessica Ding in NYC. It is an exploration into feminism, sex, art and fantasy bundled up in supple leather, delicate lace and gleaming metal hardware.

BRAND IDENTITY: Mark Johnson, Bionic Egg
